Our motto, ‘Lex Orandi Lex Credendi,’ means ‘The Words of Prayer are the Words of Belief .’

 

It reminds that us that union with God in prayer is both the focus of our lives and our ultimate end.

                The Order of Celtic Benedictines is an Orthodox Anglo-Catholic religious order for men or women, married or single, living in community or living in their own homes. We like to think of ourselves as an extended family of friends seeking an intimate and interior communion of love with our Savior Jesus.

                We are members of The Province of the Holy Spirit, which is in turn a part of the Diocese of Katakwa, of the Anglican Church of Kenya.

                We’re a people on a spiritual journey, longing for God’s Temple. As Psalm 84 puts it,

‘How lovely is your dwelling place, O LORD Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.’

                That yearning is a gift from God and a treasure, cultivated and nurtured with prayer, work and study, and then returned to him in praise and thanksgiving as we grow from grace to grace in his love and service. As St. Augustine said, ‘My soul is restless O Lord, until it rests in Thee.’

                Professed Members are available for preaching, teaching workshops, leading bible studies and retreats for your parish or group. Please contact us for more information.
